I haven't actually received them yet, but I "won" two presidential dollars on eBay.  Regardless of the fact that I "won" them, I feel that I got a pretty good deal.

Since I decided to go with the Presidential dollars set, I wanted to be a bit more specific on what exactly I was looking for.  I took a look at the PCGS sets, and decided to start small with the proof set.  The funny part is that even with only 8 different coins released over 2 years, there are still 16 different proof strikes that you can get.  Compare that with the 55 different non proof variations, and I think that the proofs are where I'll stay. The listing of the Presidential proofs are below.

The FS indicates the First Strike of the coin.  This generally means that the coin was one of the first few to go through a die.  This is in debate now though since there was litigation against NGC and PCGS grading companies to get rid of the First Strike ratings.  That's a whole other story.

The plan is to collect each of these proof coins in PF70 grade.  By collecting them at PF70, they are as good as they're going to get, and by collecting proofs, the population of the coins stays low.

To see my sets that I'm collecting, check out my profile.
